Frequently asked questions for the transition from the user@ucmo.edu account to the user@retiree.ucmo.edu account for new and future UCM emeriti and retired employees: 

 

Why is the @retiree.ucmo.edu sub-domain being implemented? 

  • UCM BOG Policy 2.1.070 -- Privileges Extended to Emeriti and Retired Employees was modified on October 27, 2022, with an effective date of January 1, 2023, to among other things, remove active employee accesses and permissions from emeriti and other retired employees to accurately reflect individual users’ relationship to UCM, which will allow for easy focus of targeted communications to respective groups and mitigate legal and security concerns and risks.

 

Will my new @retiree.ucmo.edu email account be populated with all the content in my @ucmo.edu email account? 

 
  • None of the content from the @ucmo.edu email account will be automatically transferred to the @retiree.ucmo.edu email account. Each user will be responsible for moving their personal content from the @ucmo.edu email account to the @retiree.ucmo.edu email account. 

 

How do I get to my @retiree.ucmo.edu account? 

 
  • Open a browser and go to the link “http://mail.retiree.ucmo.edu”, hit return, and then enter your network id and password account credentials at the UCM Single Sign-on page

 

How do I move email from @ucmo.edu account to @retiree.ucmo.edu account?

 

  • Right click on the email, select “forward”, and then enter your @retiree.ucmo.edu email address. If you want to select multiple emails or have a label set up, you can click the box on the left hand side of each email and then click the 3 dots (more) option towards the top and select "forward as attachment". Please note that the @ucmo.edu account should be open in a separate browser from the @retiree.ucmo.edu when moving content from the @ucmo.edu account to the @retiree.ucmo.edu account. 

 

How do I move contacts from @ucmo.edu account to @retiree.ucmo.edu account?

 

  • All of the contacts you have saved can be exported to a file and then import that file into the new account. To export the file, follow the steps below:
  1. Open Google Contacts either by selecting it from the Google Apps menu when logged into your @ucmo.edu account or by going to https://contacts.google.com/ and sign in with your @ucmo.edu account credentials. 
  2. Scroll down until you see the “Export” option on the left side of the screen.
  3. Select the contacts to export.
  4. Select the Google CSV option.
  5. Click export. 
  6. Sign out of your @ucmo.edu account. 
  • To import the file into your @retiree.ucmo.edu account, follow the steps below:
  1. Open Google Contacts either by selecting it from the Google Apps menu when logged into your @retiree.ucmo.edu account or by going to https://contacts.google.com/ and sign in with your @retiree.ucmo.edu account credentials.
  2. Scroll down until you see the “Import” option on the left side of the screen.
  3. Click on the “Select File” option.
  4. Select the exported file created earlier. 
  5. Click on import. 
 

How do I move Google Drive files from @ucmo.edu account to @retiree.ucmo.edu account?

 
  1. Share the document with your @retiree.ucmo.edu account
  2. Transfer ownership of Google Drive files to your new UCM @retiree.ucmo.edu account, click on the following link and follow the directions to change ownership from your @ucmo.edu account to your @retiree.ucmo.edu account – Transfer Ownership of Files You Own
 

What is the password to my @retiree.ucmo.edu account? 

 
  • The password for your @retiree.ucmo.edu account is the same as what was set for your @ucmo.edu account. You can maintain the same password or take the appropriate steps to change your password. 

 

Can I move everything from @ucmo.edu account to @retiree.ucmo.edu with a single click or two? 

 
  • Even though the @ucmo.edu and @retiree.ucmo.edu accounts and content are owned by UCM, only personal content is to be moved from the @ucmo.edu account to the @retiree.ucmo.edu account. Therefore, no accommodations are being set up to automatically transition all content from the @ucmo.edu account to the @retiree.ucmo.edu account. 

 

Can my @ucmo.edu account be renamed to @retiree.ucmo.edu?

 
  • UCM @ucmo.edu email accounts will not be renamed. New accounts will be created for all the @retiree.ucmo.edu users. Users will be responsible for moving personal content from the @ucmo.edu account to the @retiree.ucmo.edu account. The “username” name / network ID for the @ucmo.edu email account will be used for the @retiree.ucmo.edu email account (i.e. username@ucmo.edu will become username@retiree.ucmo.edu). 

 

Will I get Classified Ads in my @retiree.ucmo.edu email account?

  • If an employee is already enrolled in Classified Ads with their @ucmo.edu email account, their membership in that group is rolled over to their new @retiree.ucmo.edu email account and they will still receive Classified Ads when they retire.  

 

What account do I use if I come back to UCM as an adjunct, contractor, temp, and/or part time employee? 

 
  • Any individual with an active job record on file will be assigned an @ucmo.edu account. An emeriti or retired employee that comes back to UCM in any active working capacity will have access to the @ucmo.edu account that should be used for work purposes, but the account will not contain any of the content associated with the former full time position held prior to retirement. That individual will also continue to have the @retiree.ucmo.edu account that should be used for personal purposes. When a current job record is no longer active, the @ucmo.edu account will be pulled back based on currently defined processes.  

 

When will I lose access to my assigned @ucmo.edu account? 

 
  • Access to the @ucmo.edu account for existing emeriti and retirees as of January 1, 2023 will end on March 31, 2023, unless the individual has an employment relationship in place with UCM as of that time. For new emeriti and employees after January 1, 2023, access to their UCM assigned @ucmo.edu will end on the job employment date entered by Human Resources.    

 

Who do I contact with questions about moving personal content from my assigned @ucmo.edu account to my newly assigned @retiree.ucmo.edu account? 

 
  • The Technology Support Center is prepared to provide assistance and direction along with answering any questions associated with moving personal content from the @ucmo.edu account to the @retiree.ucmo.edu account. The Technology Support Center will not conduct any of the transition activities for you. The Technology Support Center can be reached via phone at 660-543-4357, email at tsc@ucmo.edu, or in person in the 0200 suite that is located in the lower level of the Ward Edwards building. 

 

Will there be a quota assigned to the @retiree.ucmo.edu account?

 
  • A 15 GB quota will be associated with all @retiree.ucmo.edu accounts, which should be more than sufficient to host any personal content. Requests to increase storage quota will not be considered

 

What other considerations should I take into consideration?

 
  • Review and inventory all the locations you are using your UCM assigned @ucmo.edu account for personal business such as credit card, banks, subscriptions, utilities, medical, etc. and begin changing them to your new UCM assigned @retiree.ucmo.edu account or to another personal email account. This process can be time-consuming, so start this process sooner than later.
