Reintroduction of the Emeritus Privileges Policy for Staff
Emeritus status is a token of our appreciation and recognition for the dedication and expertise that retiring employees have contributed to our community. The Board of Governors revised University of Central Missouri (UCM) policy 2.1.070 Privileges Extended to Emeriti and Retired Employees Fall of 2022, effective January 1, 2023. The significant change to eligibility under this policy was that staff members retiring with a minimum of ten (10) years of employment in a benefits-eligible position upon retirement may be eligible for emeritus status.
The Office of Human Resources is pleased to reintroduce this policy by allowing our retired community members to take advantage of this honor. If a retiree wants to be granted Emeriti status, please email benefits@ucmo.edu with the subject line Emeritus Status Request. The body of the email should include your name, position held, retirement date (approximation is acceptable), and your 700 number.
We look forward to implementing the revisions of this policy and extending our gratitude to retiring members who have made UCM a stronger and more vibrant community.
