After March 31, 2026, any Duo Mobile applications that are running versions older than 4.85.0 will no longer be able to authenticate via Duo Push or Verified Duo Push. How can I access my account if I’m unable to update?
Duo supports other authentication methods besides the Duo Push or Verified Duo Push.
Using Duo Mobile Passcode
The Duo Mobile passcode can be used as an alternative to authenticate, especially when there is no internet connection to receive a push notification. To use the Duo Mobile passcode:
- Log into a UCM application with your username and password
- When prompted for Duo authentication, select “Other Options”
- Select “Duo Mobile passcode”
- Open your Duo Mobile app on your device
- Select the “University of Central Missouri” profile
- Enter the 6 digit passcode that appears
- Note: The 6 digit passcode is temporary, so after 30 seconds, it will refresh automatically giving you a new 6 digit passcode.
Hardware Tokens
Hardware tokens are small physical devices that can be used to authenticate into your account. Users can use personal hardware tokens such as YubiKeys or receive a hardware token from the Technical Support Center. To enroll a hardware token, please contact the TSC for help.
SMS Passcodes
Users can have a one-time passcode sent to the phone number registered to the account via SMS. To use SMS passcodes:
- Log into a UCM application with your username and password
- When prompted for Duo authentication, select “Other Options”
- Select “Text message passcode”
- Enter in the one-time passcode sent to your mobile device
